EchoDitto is seeking a talented front-end developer to join our technical team and help us design innovative Web-based tools for progressive online activism and community building.

The front-end developer is responsible for helping us transform our designs into compelling user experiences. Specifically, the front-end developer works extensively with our design and development teams to turn static designs into ready-to-eat themes for popular open-source frameworks such as Drupal and Wordpress. S/he may also be involved in the development of client-side interactivity such as Javascript or Flash.

What you'll need:

Bachelor's degree in a related field (design, computer science) or significant equivalent experience.
2 years minimum experience with HTML/XHTML and CSS.
Ability to create standards-compliant markup and knowledge of accessibility requirements.
2 years minimum experience with the Adobe editing suite (Photoshop, Fireworks) or similar tools.
Experience theming open-source CMS frameworks such as Drupal and Wordpress.
Familiarity with popular Javascript libraries such as jQuery, Prototype and Mootools.
Excellent communication skills, the ability to organize and manage a variety of projects and deadlines, and the ability to work effectively with a variety of internal and external resources
An interest in sharing knowledge about new technologies with the team and facilitating the adoption of state-of-the-art front end development technologies across projects

Other things we get excited about:

Expertise in CSS3/HTML5 a big plus.
Experience with CSS extensions and frameworks such as LESS, 960gs, etc.
Familiarity with Adobe Flash and ActionScript 3.
A strong design aesthetic.
An active online presence (blog, Twitter, etc.)

EchoDitto is searching for an eager and dedicated developer to join our team of technologists and progressive thinkers in our Washington, DC, or Boston office. This intern position will be responsible for helping develop innovative Web-based tools for progressive online activism and community building.

You'll work closely with our software architects in Boston and DC who will provide training and mentoring as you develop your Drupal and PHP skills. You'll also assist in developing specifications and making recommendations on the use of new and emerging technologies. You should be passionate about programming and user interface design and be familiar with PHP or other Web programming languages.

A commitment of approximately 25-30 hours per week for a minimum of 2-3 months is required. This position is available immediately.

Project Manager / Strategy Architect

EchoDitto seeks a talented Project Manager / Strategy Architect to join our growing client services and strategy team.

This position is responsible for client and project management -- overseeing web development projects, implementing online strategies, email campaign creation, and online community/grassroots outreach efforts.

LOCATION: Washington, DC / Boston, MA

RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with portfolio of EchoDitto clients, Strategy Architects, software architects, web developers, contractors, and third-party providers through all aspects of the client lifecycle, including assessment and strategy development, technology integration, and ongoing campaign/project management and consulting.
Develop work plans and other strategic documents to articulate the EchoDitto vision and online strategy for the client.
Develop and manage project related budgets, including negotiating contracts with third party vendors and contractors.
Maintain strong constructive relationship between clients and EchoDitto; identify key client stakeholders.
Develop understanding of client’s internal organizational politics, key staff, and partners.
Write and edit emails and web content, including calls to action and fundraising appeals.
Assist in interviewing project personnel.
Conduct regular internal and client project status update meetings.
Assist business development staff in writing and editing proposals and strategy memos.
Analyze and develop email and web metrics.
Oversee and implement grassroots organizing activities over the internet and using new technologies.
Employ effective problem solving strategies with clients and team members.
Work with client partners, including political campaigns and non-profits.
Manage timely presentation and completion of engagement deliverables, including post-project reviews and regular status updates.
Remain current on emerging technologies and useful tools and ideas for our clients.
Must be constantly on the lookout for creative opportunities to make life more fun on the project and for the client.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Undergraduate degree from an accredited 4-year university or 5+ years of work experience in a related-field.
Must love the challenge of getting your projects done on-time and under budget. Project managent and client relations will be a significant portion of this role and this should be not only embraced, but highly-anticipated.
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and perform problem analysis and resolution at strategic and functional levels.
Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others, including supervisory and management responsibilities.
Interest and understanding of internet technology and communication. Experience with blogs, on-line advertising, and email list communications is a plus.
Experience with progressive politics and political campaigns, especially grassroots organizing is a bonus.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, especially writing and content creation.
High level of customer service orientation.
Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and sometimes unstructured environment.
Must thrive on change, innovation, and teamwork.
Willingness and availability to travel for job-related activities as necessary.
Sense of humor a plus.
Ability to lift 30 pounds (or 10 Macbook Airs)

Web Developer/Software Architect

EchoDitto is searching for an outstanding web developer to join our team of technology enthusiasts and progressive thinkers. This position will be responsible for developing innovative Web-based tools for progressive online activism and community building. Our software architects work closely with their strategy architect counterparts to develop specifications and make recommendations on the use of new and emerging technologies. Programming, user interface design and an understanding of relational databases are all core elements of this position. Dealing with Microsoft technologies is not.
