DIRECTOR, SYSTEMS & NETWORK ADMINISTRATION

EchoDitto is seeking a senior-level system administrator to join our team of technology enthusiasts and progressive thinkers. The Director, Systems & Network Administration is responsible for all aspects of our production Web servers, development environment, phone (VoIP) system, internal/external networks and suite of productivity tools. Additionally, this individual provides IT support for the staff, manages our external vendors, and contributes ad hoc technology research and recommendations on a per-project basis.
What you’ll need:
- BS in computer science or a related field, or significant equivalent experience
- Excellent familiarity with MySQL and database administration, including knowledge of fail-over configurations and performance tuning
- Extensive experience using and configuring Apache in a high-volume production Web environment
- Experience implementing and administrating Subversion or other similar source control systems
- Superb UNIX shell skills
- Minimum 6 months of experience supporting current generation Apple hardware and software
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability and willingness to work in fast-paced, demanding situations
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, vendors and staff
- Willingness and availability to travel for job-related activities as necessary
- Ability to lift 30 pounds (Mac laptops can be heavy! At least, two or three can. Or eight.)
Other things we get excited about:
- Experience with extensible Web authoring tools
- Familiarity with Asterisk/VoIP
- Experience developing or implementing open source software projects
- Knowledge of the Drupal and/or WordPress content management systems
