Summary
The Content Director is responsible for the development and management of content related to the campaign, for use in all online communications in a variety of media.
Responsibilities
- Write, review, edit, and update substantive materials (i.e. history and background, briefing papers, Q&A, talking points and similar).
- Obtain and publish relevant content from external sources, including training materials, practice manuals, news coverage, etc.
- Recruit and supervise campaign editorial board of substantive experts, other staff, and volunteers who assist in developing and maintaining content for online efforts.
- Work with campaign and policy contributors to identify gaps in available resources and develop appropriate content to fill those gaps
- Help to develop documents, instructional videos, and other materials for the online conversation.
- Execute content quality assurance programs
- Monitor and contribute to blogs, discussion boards and email lists
- Coordinate website feedback systems
Required Skills:
- Content production, editing and publishing experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to juggle many projects at one time and meet all deadlines
- Excellent writing skills
- Audio and Video Production experience (a plus)
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm for the use of technology in the delivery of content, discussion about substantive issues.
- Work well on a team and be willing to pitch in however needed to accomplish the goals of the organization.
