Greenpeace UK

As an organization dedicated to influencing positive change through ecological action and conservation, Greenpeace UK understands the importance of innovative technology to drive advocacy efforts. The organization thus needed an online presence that was dynamic and user-friendly. After much planning and evaluation, Greenpeace UK decided to use the Drupal open-source content management system (CMS) to ensure that their staff could maintain and continue to develop the site independently.

EchoDitto was engaged to guide the organization through the entire process, from design to technical development, training, and deployment.

During the first phase of the project, EchoDitto worked with Greenpeace UK’s web team to conduct a thorough review and analysis of the existing website. In close collaboration with Greenpeace UK, we devised a much-improved information architecture, then revamped the site’s visual design and user interface.

Following a custom configuration of the content management system to meet the organization’s unique content and online campaigning needs, EchoDitto oversaw an extensive content migration process designed to emphasize a smooth transition of Greenpeace's extensive visual assets.

Additionally, EchoDitto facilitated a strategy session to evaluate the organization's current use of the internet and made recommendations on how to leverage the new system to effectively engage its growing supporter community. Many of these recommendations have since been implemented into Greenpeace U.K.’s online communications and organizing strategy.

The Greenpeace UK re-design successfully launched in April 2007.
