      By: Anne Keenan  |  January 2, 2009

Rather a few of my favorite things in 2008. By location.

      Post-game recap

      By: Anne Keenan  |  December 19, 2008

The secret about me is that I love to debrief. So, while waiting for the new IAVA website to propagate, I wrote a little post-game of our development process. more

      The End is Near!

      By: Anne Keenan  |  December 9, 2008

The end of nuclear weapons, that is. For yesterday, leaders around the world launched a new campaign to eliminate nuclear weapons: Global Zero. Does this sound starry eyed or hippy or unrealistic? more

      Finding community online

      By: Anne Keenan  |  November 30, 2008

I always knew that the internet was a great place for people with specific interests to meet each other—you know, in a "casual encounters" or "come to this special party" kind of way. I honestly never thought about the internet as building communities in a, um, non-sexual sense. more

      Curatorial Direction

      By: Anne Keenan  |  November 14, 2008

So, when I was thinking about curators for the millions and billions of things on the internet yesterday, I also started thinking about how non-profits can take advantage of this need in people’s lives. more

      From the Curatorial Department...

      By: Anne Keenan  |  November 13, 2008

Today at the iFocus panel on media and the presidency, I began thinking about web content and curators. During the panel, Brian was talking about the myth of user-generated content (that it’s all great) and the truth of user generated content (the great majority of it is not worth your time). Vote today!

      By: Anne Keenan  |  October 9, 2008

No, not for the president, silly. That's in a few weeks. But you can translate your election fervor into real dollars for a good cause by voting in the TripAdvisor More than Footprints campaign.

See they're giving away $1 million to 5 charities, and your vote determines how they split it. What are you waiting for? Vote now!

These are the reasons I keep up with Twitter—so that I know this week is National Customer Service Week (thanks @perks!). Perfect timing, as I’ve been thinking a lot about how companies go right (and oh so wrong) online.

I’ve been listening to this song quite a bit recently. Not only is it the ideal mix of depressing lyrics/upbeat music that we all love so much, it echoes my thoughts on non-profit strategy.

      Really? Really.

These days, I feel like too many non-profits are trying to rush me, and I really want them to take it easy, romance me, make me fall in love, aim for a long-term relationship. more

      Wah! It's Broken

      By: Anne Keenan  |  July 9, 2008

For many years at Planned Parenthood, I was the go-to girl for fixing tech things when you were too lazy to go to IT. Things like: the printer's broken, or can you make this into a PDF, or how do I upload my vacation photos into Facebook, or my computer hates me and nothing's working. more
