It's summer, which apparently means "intern season" here in DC. Although I find that term vaguely disturbing, I am excited that EchoDitto is going to be joined by some smart, awesome young people over the next month or so.

We're still on the lookout for an Online Organizing/Communications intern. The job description is below:

Are you a progressive-minded college student who spends a lot of time online? Are you looking for an internship where you'll be challenged and where you won't have to make copies or stuff envelopes? Well, at EchoDitto, we don't have a copy machine (seriously, we don't. It's kind of annoying sometimes). We work with NGO's, political campaigns, and other clients to build online communities using the latest technologies—online and offline—to help them achieve their fundraising, organizing, or communications goals. Join our team for the summer, and work side-by-side with the leaders in our field in a fast-paced, friendly environment.

      Stipend available to qualified applicants.

      Job Description

      • Creativity: Responsible for contributing creative ideas to the client project and for regularly identifying ways to improve our work.
      • Online organizing: Responsible for keeping team up-to-date on related blogs and news; will work with online organizing and client services teams to develop online outreach and word-of-mouth strategies; responsible for conducting basic research of and outreach to online supporters and communities for various projects.
      • Writing: Write compelling email and web content--the edgier the better.
      • Metrics: Analyze email metrics and create plans for new email testing programs

This is a self-starting job. The more responsibility that you can assume, the more we'll give you. If you have a good idea, we'll put staff time and resources into making it happen.

      Qualifications

      • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others. This could include leadership roles on campus, online, or in social groups.
      • Functional understanding of online technology: conducting online research, and knowing how/where to find cool stuff on the web.
      • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and perform problem analysis and resolution at strategic and functional levels.
      • Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and unstructured environment.
      • Must demonstrate strong writing and editing skills.

Before applying, visit our website and blog at http://www.echoditto.com (if you're reading this, you're already there!) to see what we're up to and to get a flavor for our current projects and clients—including the United Nations World Food Progamme, the Service Employees International Union, Jennifer Granholm for Governor, and Rock the Vote.

Applicants should email resumes and a cover letter to futures@echoditto.com.

      Legacy Comments

Does this internship require relocation to the DC area or is it primarily online?

I'm very interested, but I'm taking classes this summer. That means that moving wouldn't be in the picture.

      Thanks!!!
