With corporate greed, labor rights, environmental action, and governmental spending all topics that have spawned some of the most powerful calls for social change we have seen in the United States, it is no wonder that 2011 will go down as a year where digital organizing powered on-the-ground action, and visa versa.
We are now seeing some of the finest direct action campaigns come together and really be influential devices for social change. Behind these movements are crafty and resourceful individuals organizing the various aspects of any given mission to say “this is who we are, this is what we care about, and this is why we are here.” It's time to show some love for all of you who've inspired us, through our “Organizer of the Year” contest!
The Grassroots Solutions and EchoDitto “Organizer of the Year” Contest is Now Open!
The “Organizer of the Year” contest is now in its third year, and EchoDitto is proud to be partnering with grassroots solutions to help ensure that those who have worked hard this year to accomplish something great as well as to inspire those around them to be recognized for their efforts.
Nominations are now open, so take a minute to reflect and share your inspiration with our community.
This year, we’ve upped the ante! The winner of our contest will receive a special prize… Registration to the 2012 Netroots Nation conference in Providence, Rhode Island, plus a travel stipend of $500!
Nominate your favorite organizer today! It’s easy…
- Visit either the grassroots solutions or the EchoDitto Facebook pages and post your nomination on our walls.
- Include the organizer’s name and the name of the campaign or organization.
- Share all the compelling reasons why your favorite organizer deserves to win.

Nominations close on December 22, 2011 - so post your nomination now! The three organizers with the most nominations will be put to a vote on Facebook from January 3 till January 10, and the winner will be announced on January 11.

Fine print: To qualify for nomination, organizers must have worked with an organization, campaign, or community-building initiative on a paid or volunteer basis between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011.
